There are heaps of good quality and original online-based magazines emerging at the moment, perhaps spurred on by the success of devices such as the iPad. One of the best ones I’ve encountered is The Ones 2 Watch, a fashion e-zine focusing on “new faces/creative talent”.
Anyone can submit shoots (or ‘stories’) to the magazine, and if they’re good enough, they’ll be published. That’s not to say it’s easy to make it onto their (virtual) pages – a glance over this month’s newly released mag (issue 6), themed ‘Fresh’, shows how high the standards can be…
The shoots are all well styled, well shot and original – though I have doubts over how some of them link into the Fresh theme. What really sways it for me, however, is the typography/design of some of the title pages – especially this ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ one. Never neglect the finishing touches.
