It’s that time of year again. Time when the Post Code Lottery Green Challenge opens up its applications.
The Postcode Lottery is on the hunt for the best new products and services that will help make a difference in reducing carbon emissions and encouraging people to embrace a greener lifestyle.
For the winning idea there is a €500,000 prize (a serious amount of start-up cash), access to expert mentors and a starting list of potential customers. Second and third place will each walk away with €100,000. Way back in the day, we at Do The Green Thing were finalists in the inaugural Green Challenge, so we can attest that it’s an amazing experience. (Apart, Andy says, from the bit where all finalists were dressed up in weird outfits for strange photoshoot – so we thought we’d dig out his picture for old times’ sake, teehee ;-)
Anyway, previous winners include Eben Bayer, the man who turned mushrooms into sustainable product packaging and Scot Frank, who developed a portable affordable solar device.
