We’re not new to New Living Expo, an annual event in Silicon Valley which brings together thought leaders, teachers and respected authors in spirituality, consciousness, awareness & mindfulness. We always look forward to going to the various sessions and booths they bring together every year. What’s wonderful about this expo is how it has brought together a community who may not be thrown together otherwise. From wellness and natural products to sound healers, psychic mediums, UFO experts, spiritual practitioners and vendors who sell services, jewelry, clothing, supplements, gemstones, meditation devices and more, they’ve got it covered.
We were proud to be a media partner and although having a booth didn’t allow us to attend as many sessions as previous years, it did allow us to spend quality time with people we met and as higher consciousness would dictate, those who we were meant to meet came our way serendipitously in that perfect kinda way when you just “allow.” Some of the speakers and teachers who lead workshops and sessions at New Living Expo focus on precisely that: the power of allowing and getting out of your own way so that the real magic which results from just “BEING” can flow into your life.
A-List Speakers
Every year, New Living Expo brings in A-List speakers and visionaries in the world of spirituality and consciousness, including renowned mediums James Van Praagh and Kimberly Meredith, Dr. Ken Pelletier, Caroline Myss (we love her work), Graham Hancock, Ashley Manta, David Wilcock and Marianne Williamson, among others. We had Marianne on our TEDxBerkeley stage a couple of years ago and by now, its not news that she’s running for the 2020 Presidential Election. She also has a brand new book out: Politics of Love, which is perfect timing to get people to get a sense of her values and what will drive her campaign: LOVE is at the core of her message! She spoke at the Expo and signed books.
She asserts that a spiritual cancer of fear threatens to undo the progress we have achieved as a nation and that discord and hatred are dissolving our communal bonds and undermining the spirit of social responsibility—the duty we feel toward one another. In this political and spiritual manifesto, Marianne urges us to live out our deepest spiritual commitment: where some have sown hatred, let us now sow love.
“We must do more than respond to external political issues. We must address the deeper, internal causes that have led to this current dysfunction. We need a new, whole-person politics of love that stems not just from the head but from the heart, not just from intellectual understanding but from a genuine affection for one another. By committing to love, we will make a meaningful contribution to the joyful, fierce and disruptive energies that are rising at this critical point in time.” — Marianne Williamson
Lori Spagna ran a session on Ascension (and was on a panel called the same — we wrote about it last year). Her work involves activating your sacred DNA for yourself, your ancestral lineage and for your animals. We attended an evening workshop she did following the expo in Marin, so be sure to read our write-up as she went pretty deep into teaching. She has a way of simplifying what’s involved in the Ascension process, 3D versus 5D dimensional realities, and what is meant by unawakened DNA at this time in our history as a planet.
Graham Hancock asks: “Was an advanced civilization lost to history in the global cataclysm that ended the last Ice Age?” In his latest book, America Before, he draws on the latest archaeological and DNA evidence. He reveals in this book that ancient “New World” cultures spanning from the Mississippi Valley to the Amazon rainforest share a legacy of advanced scientific knowledge and sophisticated spiritual beliefs. He also wrote Magicians of the Gods as well which was a New York Times best-seller.
Carolyn Myss is one of our favorite spiritual teachers and authors — I could listen to her for hours. She ran a four hour session at the expo on understanding the Bio-Spiritual Nature of your Soul. You’ll know her work from some of her most renowned books, like Sacred Contracts, Why People Don’t Heal and How They Can and the Creation of Health. Like the work we do around the Soul and the Soul’s Purpose, she talks about the essential graces of the soul: faith, hope and love, and why diving deeper into your needs from a Soul level, you can keep suffering at bay, as well as disease and chronic depression and anxiety. Through her work, you learn about that inherent knowledge that our soul carries with “it” as soon as we’re born, and tapping into “it” allows you to learn the magic behind the mystical laws which operate in our daily lives.
Kimberly Meredith of Healing Trilogy also focuses on our health and well-being as a medical intuitive, trance channeler and psychic surgeon. She emits scalar energy which is used to heal emotional traumas, unusual conditions (past and present) and toxic exposures. Like us, she channels Mother Mary, Ascended Masters, Angels and advanced civilizations — although we haven’t experienced her work personally, we have heard that she’s a talented medical medium.
When I first came across James Van Praagh’s work, I blew through his best-selling book Talking to Heaven and went on to read several more of his books, which are mesmerizing to say the least. His writing is of pure flow and easy-to-read, so if you want to learn more about the spiritual world, his books will bring you there, from the ghosts among us to wisdom from your spirit guides — remember, we all have them. Check out a write-up we did on James a couple of years back.
Beyond mediumship and pure spirituality in language and the world we know it today, there are plenty of sessions which cover UFO research and experiences as well as communication with Galactic planets beyond our solar system. Andrew Collins spoke on the Star Web and the Cygnus constellation, known as the celestial Thunderbird. He has also written a number of books including Gateway to Atlantis, Genesis of the Gods and The Exodus Conspiracy to name a few. On cannabis, spiritual awakening and sex, we heard from Stephen Gray and Ashley Manta.
I sadly missed Clifford Mahooty’s Sunday session which I would have loved to experience given the indigenous roots of his work around sacred healing and medicine plants. As a Zuni Indian Elder and a member of the tribal orders of Kachina, Galaxy Medicine and Sun Clan, he ran a workshop which explored the history of sacred plants, how to use them and why they’re important for living a holistic and healthy life.
Dawson Church who is the Editor of Energy Psychology: Theory, Research & Treatment, ran a session entitled Mind to Matter, explaining that every creation begins with a thought — from music to marriage to ice cream to a rocket launch. He asserts that thoughts travel as electrical impulses along neural pathways and when these neurons fire together, they wire together, creating electromagnetic fields. Obviously the law and power of intention and manifestation is a direct result of his work. While these so called fields are invisible energy, they can influence the molecules of matter around us just as a magnet organizes iron fillings. He also uses science to show how our minds create that matter and how important this concept is to understanding how our words, thoughts and actions can play out in our lives for good or bad.
The Exhibitors
The exhibitor range is pretty vast, from skincare, jewelry and sacred geometry to healing devices, clothing, gemstones, crystals, art, holistic food, drinks and more. How about a pair of sunglasses that protects your third eye as well? Gotta love it!
There were also fun products to help massage your back and guided meditation DVDs. They even had CBD topicals and candy this year and as always, there are plenty of astrologers, psychics, personal development coaches, and Ayurvedic products. They also had Shamanic jewelry, clay minerals and organic plant-based products.
There’s no shortage of spiritual books as well — be sure to visit our Spiritual Books section. It’s a great place to browse through books first hand as there are several publishing companies which focus solely on spirituality and consciousness authors. Think: Atlantis times, gemstones & crystals, psychic healing, angel channeling, energy vampires, sacred animal guides and totems, sacred geometry, the history and spiritual wisdom of Mayan civilizations, plant medicine, shamanism, dreams, outer planetary beings, star seeds and beyond.
Products on the Expo Floor
Some products on show have healing powers, others are just gorgeous to look at, whereas others you wear. We love the work of Crystal Tones crystal bowls as well but the soul part of me wants a whole set, not just one. Pricey but gorgeous and very healing!
So beautiful are the Lapis Lazuli Alchemy bowls. The stone of truth, integrity and prosperity, Lapis enchances wisdom, inner vision and mental clarity and encourages feelings of serenity and loving acceptance of self. Stunning right? Below are some of our favorite spottings as we blew through the show floor.
Check out our spiritual products section here at Blue Soul Earth for other fun finds. Additional highlights of the show include delicious food trucks serving Indian vegetarian food and wraps, Yoga and Qigong classes, film screenings, sound healing sessions, ceremonies and panel discussion. You can choose from 80+ free 45-minute lectures included in the price of admission. There are also standalone workshops, some free and some above and beyond the standard cost of admission. That said, all the prices are reasonable and it’s an inspiring place to walk around, explore and meet really interesting people who are interested in diving deeper into mindfulness, wellness and spirituality.
Hear hear! And, hats off to Ken, Corinna and team who produce the event every year and gather some of the most interesting content, classes, vendors and talks together all under one room for three days. For more information, visit their website and take a look at our very short video which summarizes the event this year. Also, see our coverage from last year.
