I recently discovered Health Spa Napa Valley, an incredible day spa and club in the heart of lovely St. Helena, CA. For those of you not familiar with wine country, St. Helena is one of the main towns in Napa Valley, so you can book wine tastings for a couple of days and then relax and unwind in this gem of a spa that also has a massive lap pool and hot tub.
They also have a fully equipped gym (much much larger than most spa gyms) and classes they offer their members as well as those who simply want to use the spa for the day.
The locker room area has a top notch steam room and dry sauna (so worth doing — you can really smell the Eucalyptus unlike so many other steam rooms who say they offer it) and it’s actually hot. Two thumbs up!
The facility itself is ever so chic and they offer both wet and dry spa treatments. Some of their fabulous body treatments include a Harvest Mud Wrap where they use Grape Seed Mud and French Clay together to help detoxify and hydrate, as well as a dry brush exfoliation, or a combo mud wrap and massage as an alternative.
While they don’t do “salt” glow scrubs here, they do have a Sugar Honey Glow, which I’d highly recommend. They call it their most “silkening” body experience and I couldn’t agree more. My body felt like a baby’s bottom at the end of the treatment. After they scrub you down (both sides of you that is) with HSNV’s Sugar Honey, they apply a Silk Body Butter at the end. It was oh so divine!
Health Spa Napa Valley Massages
Other body work includes a Restorative massage which is all things relaxing and therapeutic and a warming Aromatherapy massage (we’re huge fans of aromatherapy at WBTW), where they use hot towel compress with your choice of a Classic Swedish massage or Deep Tissue massage paired with the healing powers of aromatherapy to soothe your muscles and lift your spirits.
You can also get a deep tissue sports massage, a pre-natal or de-stress massage or one of my favorites: a classic Hot Stone Massage, where they use smooth river-worn stones to truly and deeply relax your sore and tight muscles.
Health Spa Napa Valley Facials
We love the fact that Health Spa Napa Valley uses one of my favorite skincare product lines with their facials: Eminence Organic Skin Care which uses the freshest ingredients without harming animals or using any harsh chemicals. They also use DermaQuest Skin Therapy products which are known to have a lot of therapeutic benefits for the skin.
Like most spas, they offer a Signature Facial, an Organic one (all Eminence products – yay), a Refresher facial and one tailored to men and teens. I’m a big fan of any Anti-aging facial, so if it’s on the menu, it’s the one I go for. Their version of it includes a combination of products, with a deep exfoliating enzyme mask, a regeneration mask, a firming serum and a corrective cream. It was absolutely heavenly!
Wellness & Yoga
They embrace health and well-being, and go beyond spa pampering. Health Spa Napa Valley offers both short-term and full time membership options depending on how you want to pursue your fitness, health and wellness objectives. There’s also day and weekend packages as well.
What they refer to as Live Bold gives you full access to all facilities and amenities plus unlimited fitness classes and one 50 or 80 minute monthly spa treatment per month (yay!). For yogis, they’ve got you covered as well.
Health Spa Napa Valley Outdoor R&R
We really loved our time most at this luxury spa and health club OUTSIDE. Because locals also use the facility regularly, you tend to meet really interesting people at the pool, in the gym or in the lounge areas. And, it’s simply beautiful outside – have a look! Serenity and tranquility in all directions.
The spa is located on Main Street in St Helena, so you can book a session after or before shopping and dine in luxury at the end of the day. Would we return? You betcha! A big two thumbs up and a must visit next time you head to Napa Valley.
