First little hill into the Scott River Valley of Northern California from the town of Yreka. Down the Scott River, the road winds among the trees, the only sounds the river and birdsong. Then the route turns up the Klamath River with a bit more traffic, but gentle grades until you are closing the circle there is a final steep two miles and you are back to the nice little town of Yreka.
The Wal*Mart parking spot is in the top ten at least. We heard lots of bird calls and not much else. There was little traffic in the parking lot, and we were not disturbed either of the two nights we boonocked there. We shopped at two businesses in town. We felt welcomed.
Quiet time.
