San Francisco’s Open Studios For The Artist In You

Open Studios kicked off in San Francisco this past weekend. As the largest and first open studios program in the country, SF Open Studios showcases a multitude of artists, styles, and mediums that may lie just around the corner. Explore San Francisco and the Art Made Here each October. Download SF Open Studios Artist Survey results from 2008 and 2009. Here’s a link to this past weekend’s profiles so you can get a glimpse of their work. Images as thumbnails can be found here. Here’s a post that I did in 2008 where I interviewed artist Deloris Thomas and another post from 2009 entitled Artists Inspired by Color.

The first weekend of the month is dedicated to ArtSpan’s celebratory kick-off events at the SF Open Studios Exhibition, followed by four weekends that feature open artists’ studios. The city of San Francisco is broken up geographically, allowing each weekend to feature artists’ studios in a different part of the city. Start your self-guided art tour and hit the pavement with the SF Open Studios Guide. Search the Online Guide by entering an artist’s name, location, weekend, medium or style of artwork in the FIND ART(ists) box above.
