Back in November, I made a post about cloche hats being a key accessory for autumn/winter. Now the clouds are dispersing, and the sun is smiling down on us (even if there is still a nip in the air), there is another contender in down…. Sitting in the window display of the very same shop I picked up my cloche from – Kling, in Dublin’s Italian Quarter – was a schoolgirl-style boater hat. I like boating hats because they remind me of two very different things.
Firstly, Renoir’s masterpiece Luncheon of the Boating Party.
Secondly, Jennifer Yellow-Hat from the awesome series of children’s books One Two Three and Away.
Both of these make me very happy, and therefore so do boater hats. Here’s my faves!
