I always enjoy looking at vintage photographs. So when I stumbled across Blogtrotter Revisited: the 70s and 80s (courtesy of a tweet by @gutterbookshop), I swooned. The blog is a collection of images taken on the travels of one globetrotting couple in – you guessed it – the seventies and eighties. There is also a nineties version of the blog though, and two ‘contemporary’ ones (found here and here), documenting their travels in real time.
Here’s some eighties Dublin, for your interest/amusement… LOVE yer wan’s patterned trousers, and the cars outside the Bank of Ireland!
I also rummaged through the archives for a few ‘best of the rest’ pics, from various places around the world. These are all from the same 70s/80s blog as the Dublin snaps – I spent so long trawling through them that I’ve yet to check out the more modern ones!
These pictures make me want to drop everything, hop on a boat or plane, and discover new worlds.
