SAND Conference 2019: From Quarks to Love

0
We are an official media partner this year for the SAND (Science and Non-Duality) Conference, which is held in San Jose October 25-27. As part of our partnership, we are given 15% off tickets for those interested in attending. Here’s my article on the event from last year!
I’ve been attending the conference nearly since its induction now over ten years ago. Each year, there’s a fascinating theme around humanity and consciousness and this year, its from Quarks to Love — last year, it was The Mystery of Being Human. Intriguing right? It’s a bit like where Wisdom 2.0 and Burning Man meet except that rather than consciousness in our business lives being the prime focus, the content is centered around the individual. And, it’s smaller, so much more intimate like the early days of TED.
How can we more effectively navigate this noisy maze at this pivotal and transformational time in humanity? Talks, workshops and break-out sessions focus on the human condition and spirituality – how we can lead a more serene, mindful and conscious life when the urge to plug into mass consciousness remains strong, especially around technology. How do you define what it means to be human? Maybe your definition of being human is a connection to trees, mountains and rivers. Perhaps its your children or maybe art is the driving force. Perhaps its the deep connection we have for others, compassion, empathy and love. It begs the question: how do we LIVE (and embody) these things, rather than embrace them from an intellectual curiosity and our minds?
SAND brings together some of the brightest minds in science, along with spiritual teachers from various traditions and artists, in a quest to expand and deepen our understanding and experience of our relational nature through the two lenses of science & spirituality.
They will explore various scales of relationship we are part of, from microbes and bacteria to mushrooms and trees, to people and families, to galaxies and black holes. There’s so much meaning in the vastness of what we don’t know and the truth is, we can tap into a Higher Dimensional Consciousness and Vibrational Energy by being open to explore what we can’t see, feel, confirm or factually know with our linear human mind.
