As part my ongoing exploration of the “Other Side” and those who are mediums, healers and psychics who communicate renowned Spirits, ascended masters, and others, we came across the work of James Padgett, a medium born in the 1800’s who channeled the teachings of Jesus (what I will refer to more often than not as Christ Energy). I wrote more recently about “His” teachings in a more modern tongue through Gina Lake’s books, content received through what Gina refers to as “conscious channeling.”
The original editor of Padgett’s work is Dr. Leslie Stone. Now in its Fifth Edition which was published in July 2014, we received the latest True Gospel Revealed Anew by Jesus from the current editor Australia-based Geoff Cutler.
Unlike Gina Lake’s ‘reads’, the words of Christ Energy as channeled to James Padgett starting in around 1915, are old world if you like, so more verbose and complex compared to modern day writing and speaking.
How Can Truth Be Based on ONE Indoctrination of Truth?
James Padgett was in effect, a medium ahead of his time in the early 1900’s. Today, there are no shortage of mediums, even though they are still not accepted as a ‘norm.’ Relying on the words that come through mediums from the Spirit World as a truer story if you will, then the Bible, Torah, Koran (Qur’an) or the earliest ‘teachings’ of Jesus, Mohammed, Brahman or Buddha themselves, is just too hard for most people, religious or not. Even harder to embrace is the notion that metaphysics could be part of the ‘story’, one’s religious story.
It is particularly challenging for those with strong religious beliefs to accept a different variation about who “Jesus”, “God” and “God Energy” was and is today. How do these spiritual beliefs and therefore values that stem from those beliefs play out in our current world?
Let’s look at Christianity and Judaism and “their Jesus”. For example, the Christians and Jews have a different interpretation of the Bible. The belief that Jesus is God, the Son of God, or a person of the Trinity, isn’t compatible with Jewish theology. Jews don’t see Jesus of Nazareth as the messiah and while the text of the Torah shares text from the Old Testament of Christian bibles, there are differences in the translations.
Take the Koran (Qur’an), which is an English translation and interpretation of the Qur’an by Muhammad Asad, an Austrian Jew who converted to Islam. Muslims have come to believe that the Qur’an is the direct word of God as dictated in Arabic to Mohammed by the archangel Gabriel.
And, Hindu texts are manuscripts and historic literature connected to Hinduism traditions and Hindu scriptures if you like are referred to as the Vedas, a collection of hymns praising the Vedic Gods. Core to Hinduism is the belief in the supreme God Brahman, which they see as the universal soul found in everything.
The principles of Buddhism include what they refer to as the Four Noble Truths, the Noble Eightfold Path and The Five Precepts, which follow the wisdom of the Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama which stems back to the sixth century BC. There is no belief in a personal God and they believe that desire and attachment are the causes of suffering.
Regardless of your beliefs or if none of the above apply and your spiritual label is agnostic, atheist or Wiccan, which is known to perform rituals in circles, centered around the The Lady and the Lord, any true spiritual practice should have love and embracing all of humanity at its core, should it not?
If so, who is anyone to say that one’s church or religion’s beliefs and interpretations of the “truth” are the only way and as such, judge all other faiths as non-truth? In doing so, we replace the indoctrination of one faith’s “truth” with Love and Oneness.
When a particular religious group teaches that their interpretation of their “scriptures” and how you connect to “God” is the ‘only way,’ to your salvation and the salvation of humanity, then there’s no room for any other ‘truth,’ regardless of how true it is for those receiving new knowledge.
“For thousands of years, human beings have been obsessed with beauty, truth, love, honor, altruism, courage, social relationships, art, and God. They all go together as subjective experiences, and it’s a straw man to set God up as the delusion. If he is, then so is truth itself or beauty itself.” — Deepak Chopra
Gospel Revealed to James Padgett by “Jesus”
What I find most astonishing in the words that Jesus (Christ Energy) selected at the time, was how much “He” prepared James Padgett to understand why he was chosen among all other ‘mortals’ to channel a new version of the Gospel. Why Padgett? Why ‘those’ channeled words and why the early 1900’s?
Says the original editor of his account of the Spirit World’s preparation for Padgett’s abilities to develop mediumship so he could communicate with Jesus (Christ Energy).
“The medium needed to achieve a certain condition of soul in order for the spirits to control his brain and write through him. If the medium did not have faith in his heart, then no contact could be made by the Celestial Spirits with him.”
In other words, unless the human’s body chosen for mediumship could attain what they refer to as a ‘soul condition of the spirits‘, the medium wouldn’t be able to grasp their thoughts. James Padgett was able to do this, through his faith and through his acceptance of his ability to channel Christ Energy.
This dense 346 page read takes you on a journey of correspondence after correspondence from Jesus and other ascended masters through the medium James Padgett, in rather hard to decipher language. The latter is largely due to the time in which it was written.
It covers topics such as Jesus and his relationship to God, Ancient Spirits testimonies (Moses, Matthew, Daniel, Samuel, Elias, John the Baptist, Luke, St. John, Socrates, St. Paul, etc), words on The Resurrection, Forgiveness, Immortality, Atonement, God and the Human Soul and words from the likes of Thomas Jefferson and George Washington.
Most of the excerpts are logged in 1915 and start with the words “I am here, Jesus,” which to avoid confusion, can be best understood as “Christ Energy,” the Spirit of the remarkable man once called Jesus who walked on the earth now more than 2,000 years ago.
The book is a comprehensive recording of “His” story as channeled to Padgett at a time in history when such things were deemed the work of the “devil” by Christians. Although we have evolved in our understanding of what is possible and what the world is made up of, human and spirit energy included, skepticism in the after life and “Other Side” remain.
It seems during this time that Padgett channeled not just Christ Energy but many historians and spiritual ‘greats’, all of whom provide their perspective of the time that Jesus was in a human form in Jerusalem. In early 1916, Christ Energy “spoke” to Padgett on the topic of belief and faith.
“Belief and faith are not the same; one is of the mind, the other of the soul — one can and does not change as phenomena and apparent facts change, the other when truly possessed, never changes, for faith possessed by the soul causes all longings and aspirations of that soul to become things of real existence — which like the house that is built upon the solid rock, can never be shaken or destroyed.”
From Jesus to his disciples, we learn about their wisdom their through their Spirit energy. Luke for example addresses what the most important thing in the world that men can do to bring about the next Millennium in 1916, now 100 years ago.
Christ Energy also addresses the interpretation of the Bible a third way through the book:
“There was never a time or period when there was a void in the universe or when there was chaos. God never created anything out of nothing, but His creations, such as are perceived by and known to men, were merely the change in form or composition of what had already existed, and always will exist as elements, though there will undoubtedly be changes in form and appearance and in constituent elements in their relation to each other.
God was always existent — a Being without beginning, which idea the finite mind. Everything existed in the universe, though not in form and composition as they are now as change eternal is the law of the universe. I refer to all things which may be spoken of as having a substance, whether they be material or ethereal.”
“He” goes on to talk about Man in his creation later in the same chapter.
“Man, in his creation, was not the slow growth as were some of the other creations of God, but was from and at the beginning made perfect, with the exception of the qualities of Divinity and Immortality. Man did not grow from a lower creature as some of your scientists have proclaimed, but by the slow process of evolution, and this is a self evolution, resulting from inherent qualities which were developed by experience….but man was created the perfect man.” (referring to humanity — physical body, spiritual body and soul)
Unlike the modern writings ‘consciously channeled’ through Gina Lake which focus on divine love as the main way forward, the writings are focused more on teaching and education of what God is and the Gospel means from the Spirit of which was once Jesus Christ. (Christ Energy). The word “Father” is used frequently — my interpretation and meaning of this word as a non-religious being is “All Conscious Energy of the Universe” and within this higher consciousness, the most vital component is unconditional love.
The latest words which have flowed through Christ Energy seem to be mostly rooted in divine love and humility, not unlike the greatest virtues all (most) men and women strive for.
“What is man’s ultimate direction in life? It is to look for love, truth, virtue, and beauty.” — Shinichi Suzuki
On this road to loving more fully, appreciating the beauty in all things, having gratitude in our day-to-day lives, embracing humanity and seeking the truth, I’ll end with a quote by Intersoll.
“Voltaire lighted a torch and gave to others the sacred flame. The light still shines and will as long as man loves liberty and seeks for truth.” — Robert Green Ingersoll
Let’s not be afraid to challenge a view point that once was, whether a historical book or a spiritual one, for each is an interpretation of the time and from a time in which we may have had limited knowledge, open minds and experiences with the Other Side, as so many more have had today.
While I may not resonate with everything in this book, I am open to the belief that James Padgett was a channel for Christ Energy in an era when very few (if no other men at the time) were willing to do so. Whether the messages were exactly as ‘channeled’ or a combination of what was channeled and Padgett’s interpretation, no one can really say for sure. But I do believe he had the gift and what an astonishing gift to vocalize at a time when people could have killed him for such beliefs and actions.
Clearly, more humans had the ability in the early 1900’s as they do today, but the choice to embrace the gift of mediumship (whether natural or learned) and have faith in the “Other Side” is a key ingredient to sustainable communication to the Spirit World and all its loving benefits.
