I love the Northeast in summer – the west coast just doesn’t have the energy and vibe of a east coast August. While I’ve spent a ton of time in New England, have visited every state along the east coast, many countless times, I never tire of magical lazy summer afternoons.
I read about Erie Pennsylvania recently on Johnny’s blog (his full blog post here on 10 reasons to visit Erie in the summer, which includes location, thunderstorms, shopping, Presque Isle State Park, Wegmans, Sara’s and Sally’s, Waldemeer & Water World, Splash Lagoon, Presque Isle Downs & Casino and sunsets). Yes sunsets.
Who knew? I have lived in in the Arizona desert, not far from the Mexican border and they always won national kudos for their sunsets, but apparently National Geographic Magazine named Lake Erie as having one of the best sunsets in the world.
Erie is located in Northwestern, Pennsylvania on the lake – Lake Erie.
