Bee vs. Moth, an instrumental art rock combo from Austin, TX, just announced their upcoming original silent film soundtrack performance. The band presents the 1928 Buster Keaton classic, The Cameraman, at The Alamo Drafthouse Ritz Downtown on Saturday, March 19, 2011 as part of the 2011 SXSW Film Festival.

Over the years, a select few Austin bands have had the honor of performing new scores for silent films live in the theater. Bee vs. Moth is proud to bring this tradition to SXSW’s international stage. The Cameraman tells the story of a bumbling street portrait photographer who attempts a new career as a newsreel cameraman in order to impress a girl. Bee vs. Moth’s penchant for mixing genres and moods with a healthy dose of musical humor makes a natural fit with the adventures of Keaton and his monkey companion. While fans of the band may recognize the occasional Bee vs. Moth melody in the score, most of the music was composed specifically for The Cameraman. This soundtrack follows on the heels of the band’s acclaimed new album, Acronyms, and the performance offers a great opportunity to see the legendary Buster Keaton on the big screen. View a trailer for the film at www.beevsmoth.com.
