Sundance 2014: Hollywood Meets Silicon Valley at Sundance 2014


Now in its fourth edition, Hollywood Meets Silicon Valley will bring together the brightest minds in entertainment and technology for a one day event in the heart of the Sundance Film Festival, Park City, Utah, starting today, Friday January 17, 2014.

Hermione Way started Hollywood Meets Silicon Valley Conference in 2011 and it is produced by Marcus Lovingood who is the founder and CEO of Futureleap Media. The conference aims to foster connections between leaders of the digital revolution and those driving innovation and change in Hollywood.

Lovingood is renowned for activating, cultivating and converting large online audiences into buying fans using social media and digital distribution. 

Seasoned digital media executive Louise Hart, Founder and CEO of STEADY ON, (Sony Pictures, BBC) is co-producing the event and moderating the “Audience Building” panel, highlighting ways independent filmmakers are using technology to identify and distribute directly to their audience. One of Variety’s Top 10 Directors to watch, Justin Simien will be on the panel, talking about how he used NationBuilder to grow a community around his film DEAR WHITE PEOPLE, tipped by Entertainment Weekly to be one of the top films to see at this year’s festival.

Renee Blodgett is the founder of We Blog the World. The site combines the magic of an online culture and travel magazine with a global blog network and has contributors from every continent in the world. Having lived in 10 countries and explored nearly 80, she is an avid traveler, and a lover, observer and participant in cultural diversity.
