I always love discovering women who are doing creative interesting things. Recently, I read about Winifred Grace Gundeck, who is a self-taught designer from Miami. When she was little, she used to hand-paint barrettes and sell them to a boutique.
Between her passion for making and creating physical things and a stint as a graphic designer, she started a jewelry business where she made personalized earrings, necklaces and bracelets for trunk shows.
She produces four lines of what she refers to as “bohemian-ethnic” lines each year.
She says that an ongoing theme in all of her work is texture and movement. Her work includes leather pieces as well as bronze and African beads.
