A heads up all San Franciscans who don’t yet have New Year’s Eve plans. This year, the Westin St. Francis Hotel is holding a CIRQUE inspired benefit ball and event on their Penthouse Floor, which not only boasts fabulous views of the city, but has so many activities and eye candy to keep you engaged for the evening, you won’t want the night to end. What an incredible way to bring in the 2016 year! For starters, they’ll have roaming and some stationed sets featuring a world champion Cyr Wheelist, Stiltwalkers, a Juggler, Unicyclist, Hoop Dancer & more.
If that’s not enough to get you excited, there’ll also have a live band/duo and four DJ’s playing a mix of Top 40, house, electronic dance music and of course some classics. Unlike so many other events which only include hosted drinks for a short duration of the evening and no food, this high level classy event will have a hosted Open Bar and Hors D’oeuvres and there’s also a smaller 100 person dinner in advance. What else I love about their Penthouse extravaganza is that 100% net proceeds go towards local non-profits.
Also at the Westin on the Mezzanine and 2nd floors is the event that brings out upscale crowds for New Year’s Eve every year, their Alist Passport to the World, which is known to be their largest production of the year. Between 3,000-3,500 attendees show up for a night of entertainment, music and fun. They’ll have 11 different areas with 7 rooms of music and entertainment, a fashion show, the live 1980’s cover band The Spazmatics playing tunes throughout the evening, taiko drummers, performers. 15 different DJ’s, 6 dance areas and more.
We’re excited to be attending this year and plan to do some post event coverage so you can see and hopefully “feel” some of the excitement of the evening. It’s hard to know where to begin with an evening so packed full of fabulous food, wine, cocktails, entertainment, music and dancing, but we’ll be sure to try to get a taste of it all to share with you. I can’t wait to overlook San Francisco’s Union Square from 32 floors up while the diversity of the party engulfs.
Both events sound fabulous with no shortage of exciting activities to keep you happily engaged all night until the stroke of midnight. The Cirque-inspired event is new this year and will no doubt, be a spectacle to remember. From the Cinderella-like fanciful, yet whimsical decor of Alexandra’s Ballroom to the Palatial Grandeur of Victor’s Palace, the Westin’s Penthouse floor houses one of the most gorgeous, desirable venues in all of San Francisco. The hosted bar is with Belvedere and they’ll also be having Specialty Culinary Hors D’oeuvres from their award winning kitchen. The imperial floor is home to numerous high society galas, debutante balls and notable dignitaries. Their entire event is considered a VIP event, so all attendees have access to all sections in the 7,000 square foot space. Yes, it’s really that big!
For more information and to register for this black-tie gala, check out their Eventbrite page or on the AList Eventbrite page for the variety of options available, from standard tickets to VIP tables, which include a private table with a bottle of Grey Goose, a bottle of champagne and a VIP bag of party favors and treats.
