There are always great events happening all over Cape Town’s southern peninsula, you just have to know where to go:

Kalk Bay: Kalk Bay books had a successful year of readings, talks and interviews last year and it looks like this year is set to be no different. Every third Monday of the month you can book your seat at their popular Deep Reading 2011 Book Discussions and enjoy a personal account of the poets under discussion. This evening at the Brass Bell’s Bikini Deck you’ll be able to catch musos the Hinds Brothers. The restaurant and bar is situated right on the water, and the food is always delicious. There are always some hip parties happening at the Bikini Deck. Tonight entry will cost you R20 and doors open 19h30, but if you can’t make it there will always be a next time; the fun-loving staff at the Bell are always planning fun events and activities for their patrons. Fish Hoek: The long-time running, and very popular, A P Jones in Fish Hoek’s main road will be having their summer sale soon, and it start this Friday 28 January. The store has been open since 1928, and their seasonal sales are always very popular with the locals and foreigners. Some visitors from overseas say they even plan their trips to Cape Town around the sales. You’ll be able to purchase anything from ladies wear, menswear and swimming costumes to lingerie, bedding and gifts.

Glencairn: The hotel and restaurant nestled in the Glencairn valley, Southern Right Hotel, is a beautiful venues for breakfast, lunch or dinner. At the moment their Samson Interactive Summer Comedy Cabaret is attracting visitors to The Right Tent where every Friday guests are entertained by comedians, magicians and the like.
