Most people are already full of Christmas cheer as the festive season starts off with gift shopping, the end of the work year and lots of lunch and dinner parties.
If that’s not enough to keep you well and busy, here are some more exciting cultural and entertaining events happening in Durban.
Peter Pan Adult Panto: This show has been running for an astonishing 14 years and Durban’s adult panto team promise a great show this year as they offer their take on Peter Pan. It is currently running at the Musgrave Supper Theatre at the Musgrave Centre. It is a naughty but nice festive season show which will run until 31 December. The Fantastical Flea Circus: Possibly the smallest circus there is, the Flea circus is open to kids and adults of all shapes, ages and sizes. Head down to the Catalina Theatre in Durban between the 11 December 2010 and 9 January 2011 to get your fix of fun, magic, madness and mirth. The daily performances start at 11h00 and promise to delight children.

Glenwood New Year’s Eve Café-style Street Festival: The Glenwood Community Forum and Yossis’ Darryl Hofmann have planned an elegant café-style festival in the streets to celebrate the New Year. The restaurants of Glenwood’s streets will be spilling out al fresco onto the pavement and road for a festive and jovial evening. The road will be closed for the event so make sure you head to Davenport / Helen Joseph Rd for a family-friendly party.

Future Exposed – Centre for Fine Art Animation and Design (CFAD) Student Portfolio Exhibition 2010: This exhibition will run right up until 4 February 2011 at the Durban Art Gallery and CFAD. The high standard and intricate body of the work being showcased has meant that for the first time the students’ portfolio exhibition will be hosted at two venues.
