As a part of traveling, we have all experienced the moment when our phone could use a little extra protection to keep up with water, dirt, cold and falling. I discovered LifeProof products recently at SXSW in Austin recently and loved the blend of their great design mixed with functionality. As an adventure traveler, we’re all faced with times that we want to bring our phone with us and can’t, such as when we’re kayacking or in a canoe on some gorgeous lake on the other side of the world. The goal of LifeProof Cases for your iPhone and iPad are to allow you to bring them with you, completely protected and secure.
LifeProof also released their thinnest, lightest, and strongest everyday protective case known as the frē, for the iPhone and nüüd for the iPad. These cases case allow you to travel to the slopes, beaches, and everywhere life takes you in between with your iPhone and iPad. The cases are water proof, dirt proof, snow proof, and shock proof. When I spoke to the product and marketing team, they gave me examples of where this case would be useful and one adventure which really hit home, was if you’re behind a boat, like I was baluga whale spotting in northern Canada last summer or if you are snorkeling. And, it comes in a fun, bright orange, so its easy to spot. You can hang this around your neck while you’re in the water, if you wish or strap it to your wrist. (safer).
In addition to the protection of the case, LifeProof also has a LifeJacket for the iPhone, and iPad. The idea is once your iPhone or iPad is within its frē or nüüd case, respectively, it can handle the water but it sinks all the time. Molded from soft buoyant foam, the LifeJacket slips on and off over your LifeProof case allowing your device to experience as much water fun as you do.
Lastly, LifeProof offers an adjustable angle stand for your iPad in its’ nüüd LifeProof case as well as an arm pad for your iPhone in its’ frē LifeProof case. So whether you are watching a movie at home on your iPad or hitting the gym, surf, slopes, or court with your iPhone, LifeProof has your device protected and ready for your adventurous lifestyle. I just tried the arm pad for my iPhone when I went on a hike and plan to try it out on my bike sometime this summer.
What I’m most looking forward to is using this and the Lifejacket on a trip later this year. Trips I’m considering where these devices may be a fit are Hawaii, Guam and the Philippines.
These products are perfect companions for the adventure traveler and can be used in a wide variety of places, including sports that may not involve being underwater, but where you want protection anyway, i.e., long hikes where you could get stuck in a thunderstorm. Either way, light and easy to pack, I’d recommend trying their products for your next trip. We love their products and personally, I can’t wait to try the Lifejacket soon.
