I’ll be honest with you — when I first discovered the Alegria Shoe line, now maybe eight or so months ago, my initial thought was that their sandals were a bit too masculine for me and while I’m sure very comfortable for avid travelers, I always look for a little more feminine flare to my shoe, despite functionality. I then thought of our readers who tend to want something a little unique and out of the box. While my female traveler colleagues search for a combination of style and functionality, there are times when pure comfort is key on the road.

And so, I had an opinion formed in my mind until that is, I turned the page and viewed more of their sandals which offered slight heals and gorgeous lines along the sides. As I continued to browse, I made my way to the shoes and boots pages — what took me so long? Below are the two ankle booties that had me at hello, forcing me to dive deeper and look at all of their shoes. Months later, finally with a pair of sandals and booties in tow, I can honestly say they’re one of the most comfy shoes I’ve worn in a very long time and they are also ever so stylin’!!
The below stunning bootie that features printed autumn poppy leather and feminine ruffled leather edges is a true stand-out. Unique in every way, you’re sure to make a mark wherever you are, all while being comfortable for any long walk. The bootie features a zipper on the side (great for allowing some air in if it’s hot), and a leather covered insole, which allows your feet to naturally breathe, leaving them feeling fresh and dry — a great great perk for city travelers.
Alegria has these very cool cork, memory foam and polyurethane loaded footbeds, which create a “perfect fit” by forming to the natural contours of your foot. There’s also a removable footbed (you can even insert your own orthotics!), which again, makes this line an incredible choice for travelers. Career fashion outsole features a lightweight, slim silhouette with heel. The quality was the other thing that blew us away — there’s a hand sewn, leather lining, superior arch support, and plenty of room in the toe box. What else is great? Women will appreciate the two and a quarter heel. We all want stunning style but when you’re set to explore the streets of Madrid for the next six hours, you need plenty of support.
A similar style is the below Hannah Black Beauty Shoe, which is a slightly m ore conservative version of my favorite bootie pictured above. Elegant and comfortable all in the same shoe, it’s hard to beat! And, because it’s black, it will go with dressier outfits as well as jeans on the road. Bravo!
Similar is the HANNAH PEONY shoe. Next up is the Eliza Regal Copper Boot, the very pair I’m wearing as I write this post. Truth be told – I put the boots on when they first arrived to make sure they fit and never took them off until five hours later, despite the fact that I was planning to work at home all day. I LOVE these shoes and oh man, are they ever so comfortable. Like the above fashionista booties, the heel height is just perfect at two and a quarter inches. When you’re running between gates at an airport, heel height definitely matters.
The Eliza Regal Copper features soft velvet laces (oh so classy) and genuine printed suede in Regal Copper. What a beauty! We plan to keep our eyes on this line to see what they’ll be coming out with for the next season — a fabulous choice for travelers who appreciate a sense of elegance and style.
While I realize we’re moving into summer, at least in this hemisphere, I wanted to show you one more boot style: the Erica Snazzy Boot, which are classic calf boots, featuring snazzy printed suede design with black nappa leather. They have two adjustable buckle straps on the boot shaft allowing for a customized fit at the calf. Like the others, there’s a useful zipper on the side and a leather covered insole for that breathability we all need on the road. All I can say is: How Fun!!
Since summer is around the corner, take a look at their LOLA CORK WEDGE — the LOLA line comes in a gold, silver and black option. While some of their flatter sandals are more functional and who knows, perhaps even more comfy, we love their selection that combines both style and “need.” Meet LOLA – beautiful and elegant right?
A wedge-style sandal in a beautiful Cork leather, they have an adjustable velcro strap allowing for a custom fit. Like they’re so known for, Alegria’s cork, memory foam and polyurethane footbed creates that “perfect fit” you don’t find with all shoe lines. Heel height here? Only two inches with a platform height of only a half inch. C’mon ladies, what are you waiting for? Two thumbs up!
