This one’s a story for the ages: girl drops phone in purse; hours later she hears a text sounding from the depths of her beloved bag, but to no avail — her phone is nowhere to be found, a prisoner in Birkin. That’s how Pursecase pitches their value. In other words, women love their clutches and tote bags, but what’s a girl to do when her once-trusty carryall becomes a Bermuda Triangle for cellphones? Especially when she’s traveling, on the road and has countless other things she’s packing in an even larger bag as well – from chargers to adapters to extra batteries and more.
Pursecase is a petite clutch elegantly designed with just your iPhone and essentials in mind although there’s space for your cards, ID, and cash as well. It’s great if you’re going out with nothing to carry but just those things. It also recently got funded through a successful Kickstarter campaign.
Jenn Deese and her partner Kelley Coughlan started Pursecase to make a product that would hold their iPhone, keep the necessary essentials and be safe at their side. What I love about it as a traveler is that there’s a place you can clip the strap to your belt buckle, your larger purse or briefcase or your camera bag. Colors available include black, pink, purple, white, teal and neon yellow. The yellow apparently glows in the dark.
The big benefit is you don’t actually have to take your phone out of the purse in order to make a call or take a picture. The back side of the purse is open so you have full phone functionality.
The purse is made of silicon, something Deese says was a bit of a challenge. They had to come up with a clasp that allowed the flap to open and close easily, as well as lay flat.
