The Sparta Pride continue to have a rough ride. After the recent death of one of the females in the pride, thanks to the Majingilanes, sightings of this pride have reduced somewhat. I believe that they are now spending more time in the remote southern parts of Londolozi in a desperate attempt to stay away from the Majingilane Coalition.
In this latest piece you can see the current state of the pride. The 3 females are leading the charge and the two sub-adult males, together with the gorgeous Tsalala Young Male (Solo) back up the rear. Note two interesting things from this footage, firstly how Tsalala Young Male’s mane is starting to thicken and darken and secondly how the young male who is at the back is in a terrible state. You can see how his tale drags along the ground and he walks with a limp. On closer inspection you can clearly see bite marks all along his spine. This male is lucky to be alive…but can he pull through and help get this pride out of a low point?
We watch in interest to see how the Majingilanes approach the potential take over of this pride and what this may mean for Tsalala Young Male! What do you think is going to be the ultimate outcome? Let us know in the comments below…
