Fabulous Sandal & Style Finds for Those Winter Getaways!

Let’s face it. It’s that time of year when we’re all thinking of a trip to break up winter.  Even in northern California where the weather is almost always moderate, we look forward to any early spring getaway for opportunities to wear our favorite sandals, swimsuit cover ups and dresses.

 SOMA Sandals

Meet SOMA, known for their handmade leather sandals for the style conscious. SOMA offers elegant sandals that are completely handmade with high quality leather and are a whole lot more unique than others you might find in a similar category.

Because their handmade leather sandals are made to order, they can take from 1-3 weeks to turn around, so plan accordingly. They work with local experienced artisans, all of which shows in the final product, from precise leather cutting to embroidery to stitching — in other words, it’s all done by hand.  Shoes run small so they recommend ordering one size up – that was also our experience as well.
The below rich plum leather slip-ons have an exaggerated kiltie fringe, bound to make a bold statement.

From more classic options like the above casual sandal to more trendy and sophisticated options like the gorgeous sandal below, you can opt for all things chic or all things comfy with SOMA. This double strap sandal comes in an exotic snakeskin leather and is as comfortable as it is gorgeous.

They also offer simple but lovely flats which are great for avid travelers. More information can be found at: https://somashoes.com/.

Sea Lily Cover-Ups & Dresses

A new brand for us is Sea Lily who surprised us with their fabulous collection of cover-ups and dresses for that winter getaway. I fell in love with their Ella Dress in a tribal print from their Gypsy collection, which has a colorful high-low hem, great for going out at a resort or walking along the beach. This makes for a great swimsuit cover up with its flattering scoop front neck. I plan to bring it with me on an upcoming Caribbean trip – bravo!

The material is made from a Knit Jersey and the tribal fabric is Viscose, making it easy to wash as well.
Their lightweight linen pants from the Lily collection is also a perfect accompaniment to any warm weather trip.  Perfect for any beach or leisurely afternoon occasion, these 100% linen pants can also make a fun ‘wear’ for a boat trip or as a swimwear cover up when heading to the pool.
The pants have a drawstring, pockets in both front and back and wide belt loop. They also have shell buttons on both sides to help to roll up the hems for a walk in the water.  We thought these would make a great choice for that upcoming winter or spring getaway or romantic weekend escape. You can find out more about them and view their other designs over at http://www.sealily.com which includes an option on how to order.
