The Thirst Project came to Austin this past SXSW to raise awareness on the water crisis and ask the community for their support in getting clean water to communities that don’t have access to it. They hosted a fundraiser for The Thirst Project during the event as well. More information on the project below.
Over 1.1 Billion people do not have access to safe, clean drinking water and proper sanitization. The Thirst Project is a nonprofit organization raising awareness of and bringing solutions to the clean water crisis through Education Outreach Programs, that educate, equip and empower communities in need of water by drilling wells.
By helping the communities’ access water, The Thirst Project changes the very basic fabric of these communities: decreasing illness, increasing education, extending life expectancy. The video below explains in a bit more detail.
