Gda&ńsk getting into dusk
It’s very fast to get to Gdańsk via the SKM train, with a stop over in Sopot. Check out the Monument Defenders of Polish Post in Gdańsk. In the same area, it’s easy to find a cheap hotel along Wałowa Street, as cheap as 40 złoty (10 euro) per night if you’re really on a budget.

The city lies on the southern edge of Gdańsk Bay (of the Baltic Sea), in a conurbation with the city of Gdyniaspa town of Sopot, and suburban communities, which together form a metropolitan area called the Tricity (Trójmiasto). Historically the largest city of the Kashubian region, Gdańsk is situated at the mouth of the Motława River, connected to the Leniwka, a branch in the delta of the nearby Vistula River, whose waterway system supplies 60% of the area of Poland and connects Gdańsk to the national capital in Warsaw.

The city was the birthplace of the Solidarity movement which, under the leadership of political activist Lech Wałęsa, played a major role in bringing an end toCommunist rule across Central Europe. It is also the home and birthplace of Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, who is of Kashubian origin.

Amidst all this history, we sat in beer garden nearby Wyspa Spichrzów ordered beer and talked for hours. Late at night, Old Town is beautiful. Take a look at some of its colors and energy.
