One of the beautiful things about Budapest (the same applies to Prague and Vienna btw) is that there is music everywhere and top notch classical musicians perform in and outside of ancient walled fortresses daily — in the streets, at concert halls, on outside stages and in cafes.

Recently, I literally stumbled upon a free outside concert being held on a stage set up on the steps of Budapest’s Szt Istvan Bazilika on my way to find a restaurant one evening. One of the top Hungarian violinists Maga Zoltan was playing with the Vac Symphony Orchestra and while the visual quality of the video below isn’t fabulous, you will get a taste of the quality of concerts there vis a vis other parts of the world. Expect to be blown away, particularly by Zoltan’s passionate performance.
