Christmas comes to Taiwan once again, and this time, it showed up in a glorious display of lights in Banciao City near the Banciao Train Station. There are several areas throughout Taiwan that set up Christmas lights and decorations for pedestrians to enjoy, but I think the best light display is in Banciao. Lucky for us, we live about ten minutes away from this beautiful area, so we’ve been able to spend more than a few weekends wandering around in the open air and just enjoying the scenery.
The entire area from the Banciao Bus Station to MegaCity and back to the train station has been decorated in a stunning display of lights. All the trees in the area have been wrapped and draped in beautiful white and blue lights, and the landscaped walking paths are dotted with beautifully lit figurines. Even the fish ponds have been decorated with a bridge and wire canopy with lights strung all over. It’s quite a romantic walk, and there were more than a few couples having their picture taken in front of the moon and stars.
So if you’re still looking for a bit of Christmas spirit, or you’re simply looking for something to do on a warm winter night in Northern Taiwan, head for the Banciao Train Station to enjoy the Christmas light show. I guarantee that you won’t be disappointed!
