Many people underestimate the brilliance of what the United States has done. Comparing Africa, with 1.08 billion people and a GDP in dollar terms of $1.18 trillion, can be instructive. California, for all its problems, has a much larger economy, with only 37 million people, that Africa.
The US itself, with 312 million people (less than a third of Africa) has a GDP that about 1,500 greater, or 4,500% larger, per capita.
36% of Africans – a population equal to the US, Canada, and Caribbean – live on less than 1% a day. That would suck.
Only 100,000 Africans are millionaires, vs. over 2 million in the US. They are the 0.1% in Africa, and virtually all in government or with ties to government.
America could and should have found a way to help the African Union bring 54 nations together. Now China is in a position to plunder, and Africa has already tried every form of socialism and communism possible. E Plurus Unum – out of many, one – America’s motto – is essential mentoring between superstates that America failed to provide.
Africa is the past. We hominids are all within 0.1% of each other in terms of DNA, and 99.9% of us are the descendants of emigrants from the Rift Valley in Africa, where the world’s smartest fish live.
Africa is the future. Humanity rises or falls based on what we do in and with Africa.
