Australia is known for nature activities, its Great Barrier Reef and of course Red Rock but did you know that the country has its fair share of foodies and music lovers as well? The annual Crave Sydney International Food Festival runs October 1-31, 2013.
More than 30 top chefs will be showing off their skills at the Crave Sydney International Food Festival and there will also be gourmet food stalls and a Night Noodle Market. With almost a million festival-goers in 2012, a new, national food event is set to capture tastebuds around the country when Good Food Month presented by Citi gets underway for 2013.
In October, Sydney and regional NSW will see the return of the much-loved The Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Month, with events popping up in Canberra and Brisbane too. Restaurants, bars and leading food businesses will show off what they do best with Let’s Do Lunch, Hats Off Dinners and Pop-ups & Parties along with signature events like the Night Noodle Markets taking place in both Sydney and Melbourne this year. And Shoot the Chef, an annual food photography competition has also just launched nationally for the first time.
It wouldn’t be a celebration of food without a line-up of amazing chefs including Rene Redzepi, the creative genius behind Noma restaurant in Copenhagen, ranked second in the world. Redzepi will headline at a series of events in both Sydney and Melbourne. In November, his colleague Alex Atala – the chef sensation from Sao Paolo in Brazil, ranked number six in the world, will also be heading Down Under.
In Melbourne, running from October 11-27, 2013 is the Melbourne Festival, which attracts some of the top names in theatre, music, dance and visual arts.
