Nolita’s Little Fox Cafe For Quaint & Funky

Comments Off on Nolita’s Little Fox Cafe For Quaint & Funky

I recently yelped “cute cafe”, and boy oh boy!  What uncharted territory I’d entered into!  Okay, I admit: when it comes to grabbing coffee I tend to go to the same place every time (Fika, you’re just too good!), but Yelp made me realize I was missing out on so much innovative coffee and so many cute places.   Let’s start with Little Fox Cafe in New York City’s Nolita.

Nestled in the neighborhood of Nolita, this place made my list initially because the baristas are famous for drawing little portraits into the foam of your cappucino.  While I was a little bummed that this didn’t happen during our visit (granted it was a busy Sunday morning, I’ll give them that), the cafe is just adorable, and I’m certain if I lived in the hood, I’d be the annoying regular sitting at the corner table typing away on her laptop.

The coffee was solid, and the Nutella toasted croissant?  Yeah, you gotta try that.  Unbelievable.  I love that they serve food and beverage in mismatched vintage china and old-school mugs.  This paired with the rustic decor (chalkboard menus, regal portraits and landscapes on the wall, Mason Jars for water, itty-bitty little vases sprouting baby’s breath and daisies) made for just a lovely Sunday breakfast.

The bathroom even wins points: walls are covered in chalk paint, so after your freshen up your lipstick you can leave a little doodle for the next patron to see.

All in all, I’d suggest you visit Little Fox if:

-You’re looking for a place with free wi-fi.

-You prefer a cafe that errs on the side of quiet (as in, I would actually be able to sit down and read a book here without being distracted…ahem, Starbucks).

-You have cash, or you’re planning on spending the credit card minimum of $8.

-You, like me, appreciate cuteness.  This place gets all the gold stars for cute.
