As much as I dislike shivering from head to toe on my way to the subway, Thanksgiving to New Years is probably my favorite time of year in NYC. This may have something to do with the endless amounts of twinkle lights…or that my first childhood visit to the Big Apple was during the month of December to see the Rockettes perform their Radio City Christmas Spectacular.
I’ll never forget walking the streets of NYC with my mom and 3 younger siblings, and my mom stopping to ask someone where the Empire State Building was. Response: ”Lady, look up. You’re standing right in front of it.” Ever since that day I’ve had a soft spot in my heart for this city…especially when it twinkles. Don’t forget to look up, New Yorkers.
