Steven Thompson said, “Dance is an art, paint your dream and follow it.” Evidence Dance Company founded by internationally acclaimed choreographer Ronald K. Brown, is holding its 9th annual, “On Our Toes” Hampton’s Fundraiser on August 18, 2012.  This fundraiser is from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will be held at The Hayground School, 151 Mitchells Lane, Bridgehampton, NY.

The fundraiser will be honoring the legendary Ruby Dee, with The 2012 Lifetime Achievement Gatekeeper Award and Jason Moran, award-winning jazz musician and composer with The 2012 Visionary Gatekeeper Award.  The afternoon benefit will also be presenting Evidence, A Dance Company’s special performance of Better Days, choreographed by founder Ronald Brown.

The mission of Evidence is to promote the understanding of the human experience in the African Diaspora through dance and storytelling.  The funds donated at this gala will help to support Evidence’s many outreach programs in communities across America which help to teach young people the meaning and importance of community service.
