On May 27, 2012, Terry Bristol, the President and Executive Director of the Institute for Science, Engineering and Public Policy (ISEPP), announced that Stephen Hawking agreed to present his newest discussion “Out of a Black Hole” at the Flint Center in Cupertino, California on June 19, 2012, at 8pm.

Stephen Hawking is the Lucasian Professor at Cambridge University, a professorship once held by Sir Isaac Newton. For the past 45 years, he has been a world leader in research on black holes, the birth of the universe, and the nature of space, time, and gravity.

During his presentation at the Flint Center on June 19th, Dr. Hawking will explain that black holes aren’t as black as they are painted. Things can get out of a black hole to the outside and, possibly, on to another universe.

The Institute for Science, Engineering and Public Policy is a public, non-profit corporation dedicated to the development of local understanding of issues concerning science, technology and society (STS).

The Institute works to improve popular appreciation of the role of public policy in actualizing the benefits of technological advances to humanity.  For more information on this unique evening, visit: http://www.isepp.org.
