Glamorous, flashy and iconic, Los Angeles is bursting with great wining and dining options. California’s grand, rambling metropolis may conjure up images of glitzy cocktail bars and cutting-edge restaurants before anything else, but it also sports a sophisticated and diverse range of wine bars for all tastes.
Here are five fabulous wine bars in LA worth noting:

1. Bar Covell
Chic and cosy, Bar Covell draws together all the great things about a traditional wine bar. With 150 wines on offer by the glass, and a select, Mediterranean-inspired list of small plates and tasting boards, this candlelit, East Hollywood bar is all about wine in the best possible way.

2. Superba Snack Bar
In showy Venice, only a few blocks back from the ocean, lies Superba Snack Bar. The ‘snack bar’ features seasonal share plates focused on fresh vegetables, seafood and spices, and a wine list to rival any LA hotspot. With a relaxed atmosphere suited to its location, Superba is the perfect place for a beachy date or a casual evening with friends.

3. Rustic Canyon
With a wine list mostly focused on French, Spanish, and local titles, and a menu revolving around hearty, seasonal produce, Rustic Canyon Wine Bar and Seasonal Kitchen is one of the finest bars in LA. Situated in the beach-side district of Santa Monica, head to Rustic Canyon for wines by the glass, half bottle or full bottle, and either a wholesome dinner or tapas-style shared meal.

4. Bacaro
In the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, Bacaro LA is a sleek Italian wine bar specializing in cicchetti, or Italian small plates. Simple and delicious, Bacaro’s menu is complemented by a wine list centered on small producers from all over the world. Snuggle up on one of their comfy leather seats, order a range of cicchetti and pick a unique wine from their chalkboard menu.

5. A.O.C.
Open-plan and beautifully decorated, A.O.C. Wine Bar and Restaurant has a distinctly stylish, LA vibe. With a spacious interior and large doors opening onto a central courtyard, this Beverly Hills bar is the perfect spot for an aperitif on a warm night. A.O.C.’s wine list is brilliant, with plenty of European and American wines, and a sumptuous menu to match.
