L’Atelier du Chocolat has several locations around Paris and I always end up re-discovering one of them, each and every visit. The last one I believe I stumbled into was in the Marais, but on this past trip, it was along Rue Montorgueile. The shop started in 1950 by a couple named Madeleine and Joseph in Bayonne and Andrieu where the first pastry and chocolate creations began, originally as a catering company. Their son expanded it in 1982 and in 1995, they started doing workshops. Today, the company has about 140 employees. Bouquets of chocolate are produced in 40 Atelier du Chocolat in France, including two franchises in Nimes and Montpellier. Also visit their chocolate factory in Bayonne.
