This small guy lives in a baobab tree outside Saly, Senegal. There was a bigger lizard, too, but he was camera-shy. Our friends recently found a gecko in their apartment and decided to let him stay; he’s currently living their kitchen. They’ve been having some issues with cockroaches, and roach-eating lizard definitely wins out in that situation. I think he officially counts as hired help at this point.
I found a gecko on our bedroom wall last week, but since we (knock on wood), haven’t had insect issues, I put him in a Tupperware container and tossed him outside. He can come back and visit, though, if he’d like.
