The serene Cape Farmhouse is nestled in a valley and surrounded by old oak trees. It’s a 250-year-old establishment and offers some relaxing al fresco dining. The historic farm building is a relic of a time before the hustle and bustle of city life. But the restaurant doesn’t just offer its visitors a sleepy retreat from the metropolis buzz; it also has a great party-vibe going.
In an attempt to liven up the neighbourhood, and get a bit of a social gathering together every Saturday afternoon, they have some popular live music acts set to visit the stage. It’s a great way for the whole family to enjoy an afternoon together. The kids will enjoy the playground and open areas while the moms and dads can have some good food, drink and enjoy the show with their friends.
The lunchtime menu is inspired by Africa and includes spices, tastes and herbs from traditional Morocco straight through to the Cape itself. If you want to make it a whole-day affair, the farm-style breakfasts are a firm favourite with the locals and include home-made bread and free-range eggs. The kitchen goes organic with as much produce as possible gathered from their on-property gardens.
The Saturday afternoon gigs showcase local musicians in a beautiful setting. There is a cash bar open for the adults and delicious braai-food on the menu (vegetarians are also catered for).
There are a few shops on the farm site to browse through such as Casimi (jewellery), Red Rock Tribal (African curios), Little Piece of Africa (Zimbabwean sculpture garden) and the Sunscene Outdoors Adventure course.
