Cap Classique & Champagne Festival

Cape Town leg of the BSG Energade Triathlon Series

Date: 5 Dec

Place: Big Bay

You can take part in the three disciplines of swimming, cycling and running if you feel up to it, otherwise come and support the athletes. This is the last leg of the race that has been run in Potchefstroom, Roodeplaat, Germiston, Midmar and Vanderbijlpark. Call the organisers on 011 215 6666 if you feel like entering.

Nelson Mandela Bay Sevens

Date: 3 and 4 Dec

Place: Greenacres, Port Elizabeth

This is a favourite sporting event in South Africa. Watch as 16 teams take to the field to battle it out. There will be plenty of matches to watch and other forms of entertainment. If you want to book your spot call Laurence Finn on 041 373 0908

China Sourcing Fair

Date: 1 – 3 Dec

Place: Gallagher Convention Centre, Johannesburg

This is an opportunity for businessmen, -women and any one else to browse through the wares of Greater China. This event is mainly for volume or bulk buyers. Check out the China Sourcing Fair website for more details.

Sexpo

Date: 2 – 5 Dec

Plate: International Convention Centre, Cape Town

This one’s definitely for the adults. Expect to see scantily clad men and women on display while you browse through a medley of interesting-looking bedroom paraphernalia. Don’t be shy, enjoy it. Check out the Sexpo website for more details.

Stellenbosch Christmas Craft Market

Date: 1 – 4 Dec

Place: Dutch Reformed Central Church, Stellenbosch

This is a great place to pick up some innovative and creative Christmas gifts and decorations. Entrance is free and there will be various kiddy activities to keep your little ones busy. Call Miemie on 021 883 3850 for more information.

Durbanville Night Market

Date: 3 and 17 Dec

Place: Rust en Vrede Estate, Wellington Road, Durbanville

You can browse through 200 stalls of hand-made crafts and other wares. Set under the trees at the Heritage gardens you’ll enjoy the relaxed pace.

Observatory Festival of Arts

Date: 3 – 5 Dec

Place: Observatory Central, Cape Town

This is a favourite with the locals. Every year hundreds of Cape Tonians flock to Observatory’s streets to enjoy the liveliness of the Observatory Festival. Not to be missed. You’ll find esoteric food, music and other wares on sale. This year they’ve shed their old name (Obzfest) and are starting fresh.
