It is with great excitement that I can tell you that this morning on drive we heard what can only be new lion cub/s.
Last night the two Tsalala Pride Females were seen with the 4 youngsters on the remainder of an impala. Rangers noted that the one female looked extremely pregnant. When we followed up in the morning we found the one female and 4 cubs heading upstream in the Manyaleti Riverbed. They were walking with intent. We eventually lost them in a phragmites thicket… after closer inspection we found the 4 cubs but there was more movement and sound from one of the large Wild Date Palms to our left. After listening carefully it became clear that the noise was of newly born lion cubs. Cubs that could only be a matter of hours old! Try as we may we could not get a view, so we can’t tell you more then that at this stage.
I can promise you though that we will keep you posted on this very exciting event!
