Whether you’re in the New York City area for business or using it as a launchpad for a New England getaway, the Hyatt House in Fishkill is a great spot to kick things off. Outside of the hustle, bustle and chaos of Manhattan, it’s a great layover spot if you’re flying into JFK and then planning to head anywhere in New England.
Only an hour and a half from the city, we opted for this Hyatt stay to rest up for a night after our flight and get our luggage in order for a longer summer getaway to New England. The other nice thing about this property is that they offer many suite options, which has a separate room for the kids, giving you that extra privacy you need. Below is one of the king hotel room layouts.
Note the two separate room set up and the extra wide flat screen TV, perfect for those late night movies. We also loved the fact that the room had a kitchenette with a full fridge, microwave oven and coffee maker.
The bathrooms are modern, they offer bathrobes and all the typical amenities you’d expect from a Hyatt property, including a bar in the lobby area. The service upon check-in was a notch above what we expected; there’s complimentary wifi, a hot buffet breakfast, a fitness center and an indoor swimming pool, more reasons it makes a great family stay.
This modern extended-stay hotel is 6.7 miles from the Dia: Beacon contemporary art museum and 13.4 miles from Clarence Fahnestock Memorial State Park.
In addition to their hot breakfast buffet, there’s fresh fruit and yoghurt options as well.
