Japan’s Fujifilm X100S is a bit retro-chic in style and is new to market this year. Fujifilm combined old-school dial based handling with new bells and whistles and then adds a 16.3 megapixel sensor so you can blow up those favorite travel photos should you so desire.
It’s small in size at only 2.9 by 5 by 2.1 inches and weighs under a pound. so easy to throw in your pocket for those destinations where you don’t want to be carrying a heavy and expensive SLR.
The X100S offers continuous shooting at six frames a second and a fast 23 mm f/2 lens that rivals a full frame 35 mm lens, yet another reason to leave the big monster at home for selected trips. Image quality is decent due to their newly added “Lens Modulation Optimiser.”
