Located on the 17th floor of the Galt House Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky, Xhale Salon-Spa is an independent spa, useful to know about whether or not you’re staying at the traditional and established Galt House Hotel. Unlike the hotel that houses it, the salon itself is more contemporary, yet is also comfortable and cozy, with a small lounge area where you can relax before your treatments. They have a number of specialists on hand including estheticians, massage therapists, colorists, stylists, nail techs and makeup artists.
I tried a combo massage and facial treatment and both practitioners were top notch as was the spa manager whose philosophy is core to the salon – she believes a memorable experience comes from providing great service, top notch treatments and using great products. Their product list is varied and includes Redken, Pureology, Dermalogica, Moroccan Oil and Youngblood Cosmetics.
Xhale’s treatments are 100% customized to your skin’s needs, fom aging to acne and everything in between and the same applies to massages, which includes deep tissue, swedish, or sports and you can opt for 30, 60 or 90 minute sessions. They also offer couples massages as well as a hot stone massage which has an amazing healing energy and if you have the time, I’d highly recommend it. If you don’t have the time or inclination for more traditional spa services, stop in for a makeup application, eyelash/brow tint, a sunless tanner or faux eyelashes before an evening event one night or dinner.
Their sunless spray tanner gives your body a glow without the hassle or damaging effecct of laying in the sun for hours. They also have exfoliation treatments which help to de-stress your muscles and cleanse your skin’s impurities, using an oatmal and rice bran powder. This treatment helps reduce the appearance of sun spots and hyper pigmentation. We give the experience two thumbs up!
