LSTN is a charitable headphone company based in Los Angeles, striving to make a difference in sound. They want to provide amazing audio quality, create unique, well made products, remain eco-friendly, and give back to those in need. As a part of the incredible audio, LSTN incorporates a natural warm sounding performance with an all-wooden housing for their headphones. Let’s remember that guitars, pianos, and violins are all made from wood. The natural acoustics with the wood produce more resonance than plastic or metal.
The used recycled wood rather than going out and cutting fresh trees to create their headphones. They reclaim their wood from furniture makers who would have been disposing of wood scrapes regardless to create their product. Further, all the wood they use is legally harvested through licenses with local government and they also keep the wood its’ natural color.
Their beautiful design comes from handcrafted reclaimed wood. This stand-apart style uses distinctive wood inlays made from deep ebony, bubinga, and cherry woods. With no two pair alike, these lightweight, plush elements comply to create premium comfort for the listener.
Finally, LSTN desires to give back with their brand. For every pair of headphones purchased they donate to help restore hearing for a child in need through the Starkey Hearing Foundation. As a part of every pair of headphones purchased, LSTN gives proceeds to their charity partner for the deaf. One of the reasons LSTN is working with a charity partner for the deaf is because a majority of children can be helped with hearing aids, a majority of children with hearing problems live in developing countries, and the production of hearing aids only meets a small amount of the demand.
The product is only found on web right now, however they working to find physical locations that abide by their same mission to sell their product. LSTN’s headphones are available in three different styles right now, two of those styles being over ear, and the third being an earbud. The reviews for these headphones can basically be chalked up to amazing. The bass remains clear for those who groove to electronic and rap; while the discovery of new instruments from a favorite jam band have been accounted for as well. As a whole LSTN is providing the creation of a great product, with a great mission backing it.
We haven’t tried these out yet but are looking forward to testing them out — they are apparently on their way.
