Premium Audio From Logitech’s MX Sound Speakers

0

We love the new MX Sound speakers from Logitech, which is all about where premium audio meets a chic design. Whoah, aren’t they elegant?

When we had an opportunity to review a set of the MX Sound speakers, we were thrilled. First, they make a great holiday gift and given that we’re so close to the holidays, the timing couldn’t be more perfect.

A combination of high-end drivers, premium fabric and motion-activated back-lit controls with a gorgeous modern design and high quality audio.

You can opt to use these speakers via Bluetooth or a wired connection and seamlessly switch between them with what they refer to as the Logitech Easy-Switch feature, which allows you to seamlessly change audio sources on the fly—just pause the audio on one and press play on the other.

MX Sound: Audio Quality & Ease-of-Use

Imagine 24 Watt Peak (12 Watt RMS) power, using high-end drivers and uniquely designed port tubes extending the bass range all in one set of speakers? The balance on the audio is sweet and there’s a 10° backward tilt which is designed to create a “sweet spot” for an optimal sound experience.

We’ve reviewed a number of Bluetooth speakers over the years, and the battery seems to die quickly even without extended use. On the MX Sound, they offer a cool standby mode to save power, which is automatically triggered after 20 minutes of inactivity. It’s a smart move by Logitech. Frustration with a product only adds to limited use.

The MX Sound speakers are designed to complement other Logitech premium desktop accessories such as Craft and MX Master 2S.

We are fans of small speakers with high quality exteriors for travelers. Bottom line, we need devices that are durable for the road. We also need them to be flexible, lightweight and small. The dimensions are compact enough to be feasible for travelers:  6.3 x 6.3 x 3.2 in and only weighs in at around 3.9 pounds.

As mentioned above, the MX Sound works with Bluetooth enabled devices and any device with a 3.5 mm input, including TV, computer, smartphones, tablets and music players.  Price point is also sweet at around $100. Who couldn’t use an extra Bluetooth speaker for home or on the road?
