Mashable’s U.S. summer tour hit San Francisco last night. To the left is a Pete Cashmore cut-out as much as it really looks like the real-thing. That said, while you were greeted with the cut-out at the party not far from the area set up for interviews and official photos, Pete was present with the rest of the Masahble crew – Ben Parr, Adam Hirsch, Jenn Van Grove, Jolie O’Dell, Brett Petersel, Vadim Lavrusik and others.
Additional cities they’re hitting this summer include Seattle, Washington D.C., New York City and Chicago. (poor Boston got left out). The hashtag for the event? #summermash of course.
Why the tour? Grow the Mashable brand and networking with other movers and shakers in the tech and social media industry.
Each event will pull in approximately 300 to 600 attendees and includes giveaways and formal introductions to the sponsors. Tour partners include Gotelo, Weber Shandwick and the Intel Atom Developer Program.
No dancing though – moving your booty just doesn’t seem to be part of Silicon Valley tech culture. As for who showed up, take a meander below. By now means, did I capture anywhere close to even half the crowd, but I captured some fun ones nevertheless.
Jolie O’Dell and Eston Bond: man, I love her latest hair color combo
Adam Hirsch
Ben Parr: Not quite the same as his Studly shot last week but certainly dressed for the occasion
Pete Cashmore: Is that Scottish accent fading I ask?
Group shot with Cashmore for us die-hards who can’t seem to leave an event early
Owen Thomas and Megan McCarthy are a stylin’
Owen finds other stylin’ folks too among this techie crowd – AND she makes hats (gorgeous ones)
