On the cusp of 40 years in business, Le Central started in 1974 and holds the title of San Francisco’s oldest French bistro.  They serve classic Frech cuisine such as Roast Chicken Pommes Frites and Filet Mignon au Poirve.  Le Central strives for its’ visitors to enjoy a glass of wine in a comfortable and social atmosphere.

Le Central is family-owned and operated.  They provide a large menu that is available all day from lunch to dinner.  The Tanphanich brothers strive to bring the Bay Area quality food such as their famous cassoulet, rack of lamb Persille as well as soup Gratinee.  The restaurant was originally started by brothers Pierre and Claude Cappelle, wine merchants, who wanted to share their passion for bistro cuisine. Le Central Bistro is located at 453 Bush Street in San Francisco
