La Merce is the celebration of the patron Saint of Barcelona district, Virgin of Mercy (as opposed to Saint Euláila the patrón saint of the city and Sant Jordi, the parton saint of Cataluña). It is held on the 24th September every year and every year there is a feast of free spectacular shows, concerts, parades and fireworks around the city. This was just one of them and it was brillant.
Sarah Perkins is an Australian who has lived in both Melbourne and Sydney until she left last year for Barcelona.
