Here’s a photo of the beach in that little town. I thought the beach was fine – uncrowded, clean compared to Dakar beaches, lots of rolling waves. Yes, there was the slight whiff of burning trash every now and again and yes, we did see a stray dog doing her business in the sand. But that’s inescapable Africa. I had a beach chair, sun and a cold Coke. I was happy.
Rachael Cullins is a twentysomething American girl living in Dakar, Senegal, with her husband and two dogs. She blogs about her adventures in Senegal and travels elsewhere in West Africa. She will reside in Dakar until summer 2013, when she and her family will move to another foreign post as part of her husband’s career with the U.S. government.
