We love the hanging lanterns and hanging lamps from Om Gallery, which we recently discovered when we headed to Santa Cruz to do a l’il sailing this fall. We were thrilled when they said they’d send us a few of their products to review because there are so many interesting and fascinating items in their store, there’s something that will appeal to everyone.
And, they have an online store, so you can get any of these items on their website. We really wanted to take a look at some of their lights and lanterns since they’re such a great fit for the holiday season, which is fast approaching.
Silk Lotus Hanging Lamps
Let’s take a look at their Silk Lotus Lamps which are handmade by artisans and so gorgeous to look at, with their myriad of color options. Each silk lantern has the unique character one would expect from a fairly traded, non-factory made product, which they tout. The silk hanging lamps come in a variety of colors, my favorite one being the Hanging Baby Blooming Lotus in Jewel (shown below).
From hot orange and red to blue, purple and a host of other options, these hanging lamps are made of silk, metal and ribbon. All the silk hanging lamps include a 12 foot light cord with an on and off switch or a hard–wire electric kit. The bulbs are not included but they recommend a 40-watt or lower glass bulb.
We thought they would look fun hanging outside on the patio under a roof of course as you want to protect them from the elements. They measure roughly 8 inches high by 10 inches diameter.
Similar to the fun silk hanging lamps are the hanging star lanterns by Om Gallery which they refer to as StarLights.
Their StarLights are handcrafted in India by partners who collaborate with Om Gallery. The StarLight hanging lights are available in a ton of dazzling patterns, from bright reds, yellows and oranges to blues, purples and pinks.
They are made with 100% recycled materials, are 24″ x 24″ x 8″ in size and include a 12′ UL approved lighting kit. What a fun item to hang around the house for the holidays. I’d also argue that these lovely StarLights are perfect items for a party of any kind. You can go in so many different directions (anniversary, birthday, Halloween, Christmas, Easter, etc) given the wide variety of colors.
Next time you’re planning a party, check out Om Gallery’s paper Star Light lanterns, which we absolutely love. These hanging lanterns can compliment hanging lamps or other accents you create for the festivity.
We are absolutely charmed by their Chakra Spiral Stand Set which can be used anytime of year. We opted to use it on the patio where we sometimes meditate and sometimes have dinner. In both cases, we light the candles (we use little white candles — not included) in each of the tea light holders, which btw, you can also order separately.
The stand includes 7 different tea light holders in all 7 Chakra colors and stands at 27″ high and 13″ wide. The tea light holders are designed in the shape of an open lotus flower, with three rings of translucent capiz shell petals, which are 5″ from tip to tip and stand 2″ high.
The shell edges and bases are black, giving each tea light holder a dramatic and clean contemporary look and like the paper star hanging lanterns and hanging lamps, they come in a variety of fun colors, so you can use them for any purpose you like, or simply go with a couple of your favorite colors. They recommend using them with wax, battery-powered tea lights, or small votive candles, which is how tested them out.
These fun tea light holders that can be purchased separately or as part of the Chakra Spiral Stand, were made in Pananque, Philippines. Single Capiz shells are extracted by hand and individually placed in the handcrafted metal frame of the Lotus Flower by craftsmen who then polish, paint and lacquer each individual piece until it glows with color and vibrancy.
They also offer discounts for large quantities if you happen to be an event planner or are simply planning a large event yourself. Head on over to the Om Gallery website for more details, how to order and to take a peak at some of their other offerings. We also love their Himalayan Salt Lamps, which I’d recommend for any home or office. You can read our review on them which was published earlier this month.
