February 18th is National Drink Wine Day. We asked New York City resident wine experts at my go-to wine shop, Sherry-Lehmann, to share their picks of seasonal bottles to help you imbibe your way through this very special holiday. Sherry-Lehmann’s suggestions for the perfect pours include:
- A d’Aussieres, Rouge Corbieres, 2011 – $15.95: Chateau d‘Aussieres has been known for their wine since the Roman era, and at $15.95 it’s hard to go wrong with this bottle of rich red. This exclusive sip is sure to get the celebration flowing without breaking the bank!
- Champagne Alain Ducasse, Cuvee Alain Ducasse Brut -$34.95: No celebration is complete without a bit of bubbly, and this medium-bodied, rich bottle is a great pick for a popping party or a quick weeknight toast!
- Lieu Dit, Sauvignon Blanc, 2014 – $24.95: This refreshing California bottle is loaded with delightful citrus, lychee, mint and floral aromas and flavors, perfect for a quiet evening with plenty of flair.
- Poggio il Castellare, Rosso di Montalcino, 2013 – $23.95: The ruby Tuscan red features a long finish sure to help shorten the end of your week. This bottle offers rich flavors of fruit and spice and pairs perfectly with roasted red meats and savory first courses.
The Lieu Dit has my name on it, for sure.
Would love to know…what will be in your glass for National Drink Wine Day? Cheers!
