Plaza Cuba is hosting a program of non-stop dancing and music in Cuba next June 15-29, 2012 in Cuba. The programs they’re offering are below.
SALSA CUBANA & RUEDA
This program is designed for beginning to advanced Salsa dancers and offers four hours a day of instruction inpopular dance styles, including Salsa, Son, Mambo, Cha-cha-cha and Rueda de Casino, as well as rhythmic concepts for dancers. Students will be separated into levels according to their experience and receive highlypersonalized instruction by master instructors Yanek Revilla and Karelia Despaigne, teachers from the National School of Dance, and members of internationally acclaimed dance company Ban Rarrá. Every student will have a Cuban partner throughout the program. 
AFRO-CUBAN DANCE & DRUM
The Afro-Cuban Dance and Drum program is geared toward dancers with intermediate- to advanced-levelexperience in Afro-Cuban, folkloric, or other ethnic dance styles and for percussionists with beginning- toadvanced-level drumming experience. This program offers four hours of dance instruction per day in various Afro-Cuban styles such as Yoruba,Rumba, Arará, and Palo. Additional classes may include styles from the eastern region of Cuba (Santiagoand Guantanamo), such as Gagá, Vodu and Tumba Francesa. Lectures and song classes will also be included. Students will receive highly personalized instruction by master teachers from the National Schoolof Dance and members of internationally acclaimed dance companies Ban Rarrá and Raices Profundas. The Percussion Program offers three to four hours of instruction per day, as well as lectures and demonstrations.
Percussionists will study a variety of Afro-Cuban folkloric rhythms and can focus on congas, bongo, batáor a combination of instruments. Students will be separated into levels according to their experience andreceive highly personalized instruction from teachers such as José Eladio Amat and Enrique Plá, as well as other master percussionists.
POPULAR CUBAN MUSIC & LATIN JAZZ
This program is designed for intermediate- to advanced-level musicians in percussion, drumset, piano, bass, tres/guitar, trumpet, trombone, flute, saxophone, violin or vocals. The program offers four to five hours ofinstruction per day, including classes on individual instruments, lectures, rhythm workshops and ensembles. Masterteachers include José Eladio Amat, Enrique Plá, “Pupy” Pedroso, Jorge “Lele” Leliebre, other internationally known musicians, and professors from the National School of Music.
